Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is a unique approach to the spiritual nurture of young children. This is a Montessori-based method that recognizes the inherent spirituality of all people regardless of age. It is not a traditional “Sunday school,” with adults teaching a lesson. Instead, we have volunteers and staff who have been specially trained and who share in the spiritual journey of the children. These catechists find that it enriches their own religious lives in a profound way. Families whose children spend Sunday mornings in the atrium (their sacred learning space) are similarly enriched. And the impact on a parish church using Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is profound. During the school year, we offer Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (www.cgsusa.org) level 1 for ages 3 – 6 and level 2 for ages 6 – 3rd Grade.

We take the summer months to give the children time to worship together with their family and serve in the garden. Our summer program, Garden & Grow, is offered for ages 3 – 3rd grade during the 11:00 hour.
