Webers in Rwanda: July Missions Update

Weber kids and friends playing “school” together!

We sent out our dear Weber family as missionaries in our sister diocese in Gahini, Rwanda, on March 29th. They’re living among our Rwandan brothers and sisters there, working to strengthen our mission partnership and relationship with our sister parish through Friends of Gahini!

Here’s the Webers’ June newsletter update coming after their first 4 months in Rwanda, continuing language lessons, meeting missionary friends, and working towards helping establish a Sunday school curriculum for children’s discipleship! You can find praises and prayer requests below, and read the whole update complete with more photos and details here!

Praises:

We saw lots of monkeys this month!

  • We have had the privilege of visiting some people in their homes and are beginning to feel more connected in the community.

  • Our kids are making friends! There is a small group of expats that live in this province that get together twice a month. They also met a lot of missionary kids/third culture kids (MK's/TCK's) at the Kumbya Retreat Centre we stayed at this month, and we’ll be able to visit some of them when we go to Kigali for supplies.

  • The language acquisition course is going well and encouraging us in our studies.

Prayer Requests:

  • Pray that we will be diligent in our language studies and that we will be able to better use the language that we are acquiring.

  • We have a team of 5 coming from America to be a part of the revival convention that is held in Gahini every year. They will be here from Sept. 1-12. Please pray for us as we prepare for their arrival.

  • We will be wrapping up our school year this month. Please pray for dilligence and strength to finish strong.
