The Care Team

The Care Team here at Redeemer is made up of clergy and laity who take seriously the Lord’s call to love one another as he has loved us by seeking to attend to the physical, emotional, and spiritual health of the people of the church.

While we do our best to keep a listening ear out for needs within our church, we are not able to catch everything. If you need help, please reach out to us and let us know! As we hear from you, we would love to come alongside of you in prayer and by providing or connecting you with resources for care, support, and healing. Check out some of our established areas of care below.

“They will know you are my disciples by how you love one another.”

John 13:35

Areas of Care

  • Clergy Meeting

Our clergy—priests and deacons—lead us in discipleship as well as communicate the love of Christ tangibly to those who are in need. They would love to meet with you for prayer or to discuss any pastoral care need you might have. You can let us know below that you’d like to meet with one of our clergy.

  • Homebound Communion

The Eucharist is the family meal of the Church, and we grieve when circumstances prevent someone from attending Sunday services to receive it. If you have been unable to attend services for several weeks because of illness, surgery, or disability, we would like to send a deacon to bring communion to you once a month. Please let us know below!

  • Prayer

Our prayer team offers time to pray with individuals during Sunday services, and also holds a healing prayer night on the third Thursday of every month. They are also available throughout the week to meet and pray with you. You can let us know below if you’d like to meet with a member of our prayer team during the week. You can also submit prayer requests online here or email our prayer team leader, Jim Godfrey, here, with any questions, requests, or to join our prayer team.

  • Stephen Ministry

Stephen Ministers are lay (non-clergy) members trained to provide one-to-one care to those experiencing a difficult time in life, such as grief, divorce, job loss, or illness. They are not licensed counselors, but have a passion for bringing Christ’s love to people during times of need. If you would like to see if a Stephen Minster would be a good fit for your need, you can let us know below!

If you are interested in becoming trained as a Stephen Minister, please email Deacon Ashley here.

  • Spiritual Direction

A spiritual director provides a safe and sacred companionship that is confidential and can help you discern God’s direction in your life. A typical session opens with prayer, inviting the Holy Spirit to direct the session. The director then invites you to share what God is stirring within you and listens for key themes that serve as opportunities to seek further understanding through God’s revelation and loving embrace. If you’d like to meet for direction, let us know at the form below!

  • Confession/Rite of Reconciliation

Although we confess our sins together every Sunday as part of our liturgy, private confession or the Rite of Reconciliation has been in Anglican Prayer Books since 1549. The typical attitude among Anglicans can be summed up in the motto: “All may; none must; some should.” The Rite of Reconciliation can be particularly healing for people who have a hard time believing that God really forgave a particular sin, a struggle with a habitual sin, or a troubled conscience. When a person confesses their sins and hears a priest say that God “remembers their sins no more,” it can offer deep healing and restoration. You can learn more about what confession/the rite of reconciliation looks like here. If you have questions please contact Fr. Jared or Dcn. Ashley. You can let us know below that you’d like to meet for reconciliation.

Have another question or need you’d like to talk to someone about?

You can reach out to our Pastoral Care Director, the Rev. Dcn. Ashley Davis, here and she’ll get in touch with you about how the church can best come alongside you.
