Rejoice and Be Glad (All Saints’ Day)
On All Saints Day, we look to the examples of those faithful Christians who have gone before us, often in the face of suffering and persecution. Drawing from the Beatitudes and the example of persecuted Christians worldwide, particularly in Iran, Deacon Steven Hebbard explores the paradoxical relationship between suffering and joy. He demonstrates how true blessedness (makarios) is a divine joy, independent of circumstances, that emerges when believers follow Christ's path, face opposition with faith, and become "thin places" where God's presence breaks through to others in need.
Scripture Reading: Matthew 5:1-12
