Groaning for New Creation

When the news is covered with stories of wars, injustice, persecution, and poverty, or when we know someone (or perhaps we are that someone) facing a terminal or chronic illness, relationship strife, job loss, or hunger, we know that the world is not as it should be. When faced with the sufferings of this world, we are all groaning for it to be made right. Why and how do we make it right? In this week’s message, we take a deeper look at Paul’s letter to the Roman church and the groaning for sufferings to end and the New Creation to come.

Ashley was ordained as a deacon in the Diocese of Christ Our Hope on St. Valentine’s Day 2020. Ashley works with the diocese, focusing on clergy care and serves as a chaplain. She also leads Stephen Ministry at Redeemer.

She graduated from Davidson College with a BA in English. After earning an M.Ed from Lesley College (now Lesley University) in Cambridge, MA, she taught middle school English for 6 years. She received a Masters in Religion with a focus on Biblical Studies in May 2022 from Trinity School of Ministry in Ambridge, PA, and was recognized with the Greek Exegesis Award. She has a passion for deep study of Scripture and for liturgy and how both shape and form our faith. Ashley also has a special place in her heart for women in ministry and spouses of clergy.
